Last month, ALS TDI was named as one of the validation centers for Prize4Life, the non-profit ALS organization that announced its $1 million ALS/MND Treatment Prize on October 21, 2008. The Avi Kremer ALS Treatment prize, named at the request of an anonymous donor for Prize4Life's founder is a rolling prize that will be awarded to the first submission that meets the specified prize criteria. If no winning submissions are received the prize will be closed on October 15, 2010.

These ongoing projects are part of the Institute's extensive effort to identify the altered expression of genes and proteins, at the onset of, and throughout the progression of the fatal neurodegenerative disease known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease).
