Team Godfather's innovative fundraising events have included "Groovin with the Godfather," a musical event at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach and Bike4Mike, a hugely successful charity bike ride looping around the scenic area within the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego, California. The Team Godfather Charitable Foundation is on track to reach its $1 million fundraising goal in 2016.
Michael Ramirez was diagnosed with ALS in September of 2009 and created the Foundation with his wife Maureen and their friends to give direction and lead by example in their search for a cure for ALS. Mike was hugely active in the charitable, civic and business communities he lived and worked in, and he travelled broadly across the world seeking adventure. While his battle with ALS ended in 2012, the Team Godfather Charitable Foundation continues to provide support to local PALS and unites families from across the country to fundraise for ALS research.
The Team Godfather Charitable Foundation is a Global Affiliate of ALS.net and provides significant leadership and support to the executive team at ALS.net and the Institute it funds.
